Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault has been the Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche since April 28, 2025.

Guillaume was born and raised in Kedgwick, New Brunswick. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Université de Moncton and a Master of Arts degree in Canadian Politics from the University of Ottawa. He also completed his doctoral studies at the University of Ottawa.

Before his election to the House of Commons, Guillaume worked as a research associate at a specialized research firm. His expertise lies in the Canadian Francophonie. He has undertaken numerous projects for the federal government, provincial governments, and community organizations across the country.

Committed to his community, he was elected to the Kedgwick municipal council in 2021, a position he held until 2025, the year of his federal election.

He currently sits on the Standing Committee on Official Languages ​​and the Standing Committee on Science and Research.
